How many can you accommodate? The minimum is six students per class and the maximum 12. If the number of attendees drops to less than six, you will still be responsible to pay for 6 (or the minimum). If the number increases, we need to be notified ASAP. Another invoice will be issued or you will be directed to pay using our automated reservation system.
What is the average cost per person? Prices for corporate or private group hands-on cooking classes vary from $79 and up depending on group size and menu. Please contact us to inquire.
What kind of menu/food will we do? We offer a variety of seasonal or ethnic meals, tapas, and appetizers. Once you’ve decided on a date we can further discuss meal options. Menu may change without notice pending ingredient availability.
How long is the class? The class lasts between 2 ½ to 3 hours.
Do we get to eat or just taste? Eat! Eat! There is always plenty of food beyond just tasting. Your group will sit down together, talk about their experiences, and enjoy their meal. Download our free color brochure on Corporate-Team Building cooking classes.
Is a deposit required? Yes. A $200 deposit is required to reserve/hold the date of your class and will be applied to your total balance. Your deposit is due when the date is agreed upon. You will be invoiced by email or directed to our automated reservation system.
How is the balance paid? Payment balance can be made by credit card through a special invoice via PayPal or via our automated reservation system. Full payment balance must be paid by 6 p.m. at least 7 days prior to the date of your class.
What is your cancellation policy? If you cancel in the time between the date of deposit and 7 days before the event you will lose your $200 deposit. There are no refunds or credits of any kind if you cancel within 72 hours of a class. If you cancel more than 7 days before a class and paid your full amount early, you will be refunded the full amount minus $200 deposit fee.
What’s the game plan? The class begins on time. Please urge participants to show up promptly. Late comers will miss part of the experience/recipes. There is no waiting for people to show up or make up what they missed. After cooking, plating, and garnishing you sit down and eat as a group and discuss your challenges and successes. Participants can take recipes home. Please do not linger after class so our staff can finish cleaning up on time.
Can we drink alcohol on the premises? For everyone’s safety, beer or wine brought in by your group will not be consumed until the instructor decides that it is safe to begin serving alcohol. No hard liquor is allowed on the premises. No one shall drink alcohol prior to coming to class. People who are inebriated will be asked to leave and no refund given.
Is there a dress policy? This is a working kitchen, please dress accordingly. Wear comfortable closed toe shoes (NO SANDALS or HIGH HEELS); tie long hair back, and no blouses with billowing sleeves or scarves.
Do you sell aprons? You can purchase South Bay School of Cooking aprons for $20/each which is a nice memento for your group.
